Roots reggae at Rusty Nail Feb. 7

Jah9 and Midnite will bring fresh roots reggae to the Rusty Nail, 1190 Mountain Road, Stowe, on Saturday, Feb. 7, celebrating legend Bob Marley’s birthday weekend.

When Jah9 sings, hearts and minds awaken. Old-school blues improvisation meets hard-hitting lyrical prowess in a rich, imaginative blend. Her philosophy is profoundly spiritual, and her style is “jazz on dub.”

Midnite, from St. Croix, weaves old-school roots music with modern experiences to create a unique encounter. Vaughn Benjamin’s electrifying voice and lyrical style and his brother Ron Benjamin’s production form the nucleus of the rootsy, raw musical style. Tickets: $25 advance, $30 day of show, at rustynailvt.com and ticketfly.com. This show is 18-plus. Doors at 8 p.m., Jah9 begins at 9 p.m.
